Smile! for [COD #10 and Colorful Adventure] Inspirational Wendy

Wendy Nguyen from Wendy's Lookbook is an inspiration for me. I pretty much see her and Mystery Man as my role models. Their journey is incredible and their story is just so amazing. I don't think I've ever been so nervous meeting someone! >A<

Once I entered the Diane von Furstenberg store at South Coast Plaza, I first recognized her younger brother and immediately realized that I was so incredibly lucky. Her and her brother's story is just so touching, and it had dawned on me that I was so close to someone who I admire so much. I pretty much procrastinated going up to her and kind of wandered around the store first. Thanks to Thomas, who nudged me and patiently encouraged me, I finally had the courage to end up hovering around her and kind of spluttering noises out of my lips. It was a little embarrassing, but I couldn't get anything else out at the time. (enter nervous laugh)

Wendy was wonderfully kind. She patiently listened to my story and just how she inspired me. She was so very elegant and so very sweet, that I couldn't help but shake in excitement and happiness. I am really grateful that she accepted my present for her as well! ^^ So many reasons to smile!

Coinky-dinkly, the very friend who introduced me to her videos used to live in the same college dorm with one of her closest friends, and also the man who started out taking pictures of her on her blog! It's such a small world! Time flew by as we talked and he gave me many kind words of encouragement, as well as Mystery Man. It was a very educational night! (:

South Coast Plaza has fantastic Christmas decorations! The lights flicker against the roof like stars and it's just amazing. (:

Pictures taken by the wonderful Thomas Liu. (: Thank you!

Would you believe that my red "belt" is actually a red cardigan from Forever21? I spent about 20 minutes in front of a mirror the night before trying to figure it out and this was the ending result! What do you think? I think I'll make a video of how I did it soon. (:

Can you guess what character I'm channeling through my outfit? P: The answer to that will actually be revealed in my 100th video. Stay tuned! <3

Today was beyond my dreams and it was just so wonderful. My cheeks have never been so sore from smiling. Everything was so great. Thank you Wendy and Mystery Man! Thank you David! Smile today! (:

Their pumpkin cheesecake on a mini cone dessert was really yummies! :3 Can you see the little smiley face on mine? P:

I personally think that Thomas captured me being really nervous, but really excited really well here. Pre-meeting-Wendy-and-pre-smile-parade.

Aren't the Christmas lights on the roof surrounding the colorful stained glass magical? :]

Smile! for [COD #9] Wreck-It Hero

Ever since watching Sourcefed's The New Movie Thing Show (Yes, it's really called that.) review of Wreck-It Ralph, it confirmed my need to watch it. The movie was great! Adventure, humor, touching story-telling and visuals was all there! I highly recommend it! (:
While going to the mall to see the movies, I wanted to reflect the character's colors into my outfit so this was what came from that. (: My outfit was based off of the colors of Wreck-It Ralph's clothes with the gold belt to top off the color of gold coins that is commonly found in old video games. In order to downplay the outfit because of the bright colors, I wore a dark grey cardigan inside the red pleather jacket.

My photographer, Thomas Liu, was very supportive and accommodating as we snapped a few pictures of what I wore before the movie. So wonderful props to him! Thanks for reading! Smile today everyone! (:

This was an image in front of a recently opened store and I just thought it was so amusing. X3 Scrunchie face!

Smile! for [COD #8] Snow Blades and Ribbons

Yay for Halloween! (: I hope that you all got candy! If you didn't, I hope you all had a good time! Did you watch any scary movies? This year I dressed up as Rukia Kuchiki in her school uniform from the anime Bleach. Rukia is my absolute favorite character from Bleach. Her sword is entirely white and absolutely has the most beautiful attacks in my opinion. She's witty and has a strong heart. She also loves bunnies, which is my favorite animal! (:

I've had her white sword replica for about four to five years now, and it has been sitting in my room ever since. Ever since I attended DisneyExpo last time, I just fell in love with cosplay, so I was determined to create this one, since it was pretty easy to do as well! (: I hope you enjoy the pictures! They were taken by my wonderful friend, Thomas Liu. Thanks again! Smile today everyone! (:

 Hurgh?
 Heh...heh...heh...I gotchu nows.
 Die.
(sidenote: These are my best intimidating eyes. Are you scared? P:)

Smile! for COD #7

Hello smileys! (: It's tiiime fooooor another C-O-D! (:

Purple Lace Tank - Styles for Less
Sheer Ruffle Tank - Styles for Less
Brown Pleather Bomber Jacket - Papaya
Light Tan Flare Jeans - Wet Seal
Brown Ruffle Boots - Styles for Less

(same jacket in this COD)

[Right] Entire outfit
[Left] [Colorful Tip] When finding jeans that flare out at the bottom, I like finding a pair that just almost touch the ground. Why? Because it gives the illusion that you're taller...and for me personally, I've always wanted to be taller. Petite people represent! :D Especially since these pants don't start at your hips, it has three buttons and it starts just barely above the belly button. By tucking in my purple lace tank top into my pants, it shows off where the pants start through the sheerness of the taupe colored top and it gives the illusion that my legs start somewhere higher. Therefore, it gives the impression that I'm tall.

Because I have been just wearing skinny jeans as my go-to bottoms ever since the beginning of the summer season, I was extremely excited when I saw these paints at Wet Seal in the buy-one-get-one-for-a-penny clearance section for two reasons.

One: I have been on the lookout to adding more lighter bottoms to my wardrobe and up until this purchase I have only been successful in owning a white pair of shorts from Styles for Less and white skinny jeans that I bought off from a friend who had her own little Facebook closet sale. (AKA they were only 3 dollars) Cue the wallet approved thumbs up? :3

Two: I am finally able to experiment with different types of jean shapes. Hopefully, I'll be able to match these jeans up to create other future outfits. (:

Hope you enjoyed this outfit! (:

Smile! for COD #6

COD time! (: Let's jump right in!

White Collared Button Up - CottonOn
Dark Blue Skinnies - Styles for Less
Utility Jacket - hand me down from a friend
Black PolarMax - Christmas present from a friend
Black Heeled Boots - Styles for Less

(same boots and white shirt in this COD)

[Right] Entire outfit
[Left] Close up of all the layers the outfit has

This season, I've been experimenting a lot with layers, especially since the weather is starting to get a little more consistent. In this case, consistent means when the sun starts to drop, the weather gets pretty chilly. During this kind of weather, I like getting cozy in thin layers so it's not so overwhelming. My PolarMax really helps keeping me nice and warm during the fall and shall become my best friend during the upcoming winter season. In one of my previous posts, I talked about some tips on how to stay warm this season. I was fortunate enough to be given a PolarMax set from a friend last Christmas and they have really been good to me when the weather starts to test the tolerance of human sniffles. If you don't own PolarMax, I would suggest wearing a tighter fit tank top and then a black top (preferably long sleeved) on top of that. I would've really hoped for the black layer of this outfit to be the longest of the three layers to really extenuate on the layering concept, but then again working with what you've got is pretty much what this blog is about. (:

Smile! for COD #5

Oops....I haven't done a COD bloggy entry in awhile huh....?...I'll try to do them more often. Hopefully once a week? or three times a month at least...ANYWAYS! Without further ado..tah dah!

Leopard Print Scarf - Styles for Less
Brown Knit Cardigan - Styles for Less
Grey Tank Top - Papaya
Brown Pleather Bomber Jacket - Papaya
Striped Shorts - hand me down from a friend
Black leggings - Christmas present from a friend
Brown Ankle Boots - Styles for Less

Here's a close up of my ankle boots. I really like them. (: I've been trying to find ankle boots that I like since I saw a YouTube video from Wendy's Lookbook. I'll add her information in the Colorful Links section below. It's already hard enough to find a pair of ankle boots that I like because I'm very picky with shoes because they're so expensive. Then, it's even harder finding shoes my size because my feet are tiny. ;^;

That about wraps it up for this COD! Stay warm!

Smile! for COD #4

Yesterday morning, the roads were all foggy! Last night was pretty chilly too, so I figured since today I'm going to be out all day it wouldn't hurt to layer up! (Neither would it hurt to throw on a scarf.)

Striped Two Layer Top - Papaya
Cardigan - Express
Skinny Jeans - Styles For Less
Scarf - Styles For Less

I'm pairing this outfit with my grey Converse today. [Sidenote] My feet are so small that I had to buy a kid's size 3. Oh wells! At least they were cheaper!

[Colorful Tip]
Express is expensive for their regular retail prices, but rightly so because their quality is really nice. Also if you don't mind looking through their Clearance section, there's some pretty good deals there. I bought this purple Cardigan for $23.99 and it was originally $50, so I'm not complaining. Express is also having their semi-annual Clearance sale right now. I think it's worth looking into. I will also add a helpful link in the Colorful Links section if you like what you see. (;

[Colorful Tip]
Papaya has very affordable, stylish clothing. Many clothing pieces in my closet from there. Even better is when they have things on sale. (; Happy shopping!

Stay warm!

Smile! for COD #3

Even though fall is here, that doesn't mean very much on the west coast. Today the highest temperature was about 99 degrees Fahrenheit where I am and I've had a few friends tell me that it burned about 104 degrees Fahrenheit where they were. With that weather report in mind, I decided to be very aware of the predicted hateful heat and put this outfit on.

Ruffly Leopard Print Tank - Styles for Less
Skinny Jeans - from a friend's Facebook closet sale
Sara Buchanan Heels - Kohl's

Here's a close up of my heels. I had my Confetti The Red Carpet colored toesies give the outfit a pop of color.

[Colorful Tip]
Kohl's is quite pricey most of the time, but when they have sales I think it's worth looking into. The heels that I'm wearing today were on sale and were about $20-$30. Since finding shoes that are my size and actually look decent on me is quite difficult, (and considering I would like to expand my footwear options to add casual heels) I bought them.

Anyways, that's it for this COD! I hope that you're not caught in the weather's mood swings.

Smile! for COD #2

Fall is here! Which means a changing in weather as well as wardrobe pieces, but layering up your clothing, doesn't mean that it has to make yourself look like a human clothing snowball. Today is the first day of the fall season where it's rained the whole day, so here's the outfit I wore today that didn't make me non-human-clothing-snowball-y and at the same time, quite snuggly buggly.

Purple Cowl Neck Halter Top - from a friend's Facebook closet sale
Denim Jacket - from a Taiwanese store
Faux Leather Jacket - Forever 21 similar here
Skinny Jeans - Styles for Less
Shoes - Styles for Less

Here's a close up of my boots.

[Colorful Tip]
Styles for Less has the cheapest skinnies that I have yet to come across. Here is their online selection for skinnies. Most of my skinnies are from there and when you get a VIP card, it's 10% off every single purchase for the year, which I find very worth while, since I live very close to one. You only pay $5 for the card and then its 10% off every purchase for the whole year and 20% off the purchase you make on the week of your birthday! Click here and scroll to the very bottom for full details.

If the weather lightens up, I can even take off the leather jacket and wear it like this! Yay for rolling up the sleeves! (;

Even if I don't expect the weather to lighten up, it's not a bad idea to be prepared for it. Besides, layering jackets don't always have to look poofy. The whole thing can have a very chic, comfy look to it!

Hope you enjoyed this COD!

Smile! for COD #1

Hello my smileys! I'm going to try out Outfit of the Day, or commonly known on YouTube as OOTD. Instead though, I'm going to call these COD's or Colorful Outfit Day. Not to be confused with the fantastical game of Call of Duty. Psst, did I mention that I'm a gamer? (; Anyways, let's see how this works out!

This past Saturday, I went to Forever 21 and acquired these plaid pants in XS.

Don't they kind of look like a plaid skirt? Because I am quite petite, I was extremely pleased to find the first belt that fits me without having to create my own hole. Yay! (:

And with that, here it is!

Shirt - CottonOn
Vest - from a friend
Pants - Forever 21

I really like collared button ups, where you can just roll up the sleeves and it transforms the look to something more casual.

With this outfit, I paired it up with suede black heeled boots that I got from Styles for Less. I turned on the flash so that you could see the texture and design of the boot.

This is how I had my hair today, and perhaps I'll make a tutorial for it later. It's very easy to do and in my opinion, looks a little anime even! (:

Well that's it for this COD! (: Hope you enjoyed it.
