Smile! for [COD #10 and Colorful Adventure] Inspirational Wendy

Wendy Nguyen from Wendy's Lookbook is an inspiration for me. I pretty much see her and Mystery Man as my role models. Their journey is incredible and their story is just so amazing. I don't think I've ever been so nervous meeting someone! >A<

Once I entered the Diane von Furstenberg store at South Coast Plaza, I first recognized her younger brother and immediately realized that I was so incredibly lucky. Her and her brother's story is just so touching, and it had dawned on me that I was so close to someone who I admire so much. I pretty much procrastinated going up to her and kind of wandered around the store first. Thanks to Thomas, who nudged me and patiently encouraged me, I finally had the courage to end up hovering around her and kind of spluttering noises out of my lips. It was a little embarrassing, but I couldn't get anything else out at the time. (enter nervous laugh)

Wendy was wonderfully kind. She patiently listened to my story and just how she inspired me. She was so very elegant and so very sweet, that I couldn't help but shake in excitement and happiness. I am really grateful that she accepted my present for her as well! ^^ So many reasons to smile!

Coinky-dinkly, the very friend who introduced me to her videos used to live in the same college dorm with one of her closest friends, and also the man who started out taking pictures of her on her blog! It's such a small world! Time flew by as we talked and he gave me many kind words of encouragement, as well as Mystery Man. It was a very educational night! (:

South Coast Plaza has fantastic Christmas decorations! The lights flicker against the roof like stars and it's just amazing. (:

Pictures taken by the wonderful Thomas Liu. (: Thank you!

Would you believe that my red "belt" is actually a red cardigan from Forever21? I spent about 20 minutes in front of a mirror the night before trying to figure it out and this was the ending result! What do you think? I think I'll make a video of how I did it soon. (:

Can you guess what character I'm channeling through my outfit? P: The answer to that will actually be revealed in my 100th video. Stay tuned! <3

Today was beyond my dreams and it was just so wonderful. My cheeks have never been so sore from smiling. Everything was so great. Thank you Wendy and Mystery Man! Thank you David! Smile today! (:

Their pumpkin cheesecake on a mini cone dessert was really yummies! :3 Can you see the little smiley face on mine? P:

I personally think that Thomas captured me being really nervous, but really excited really well here. Pre-meeting-Wendy-and-pre-smile-parade.

Aren't the Christmas lights on the roof surrounding the colorful stained glass magical? :]

Smile! for [Colorful Adventures] Filming Fails and Christmasy Disneyland

So maybe describing Disneyland to be a magical place is being cliche-ly redundant, but being there during while the holiday decorations are up, after the fireworks end and the Sleeping beauty castle is covered in silvery blue glittering lights and their imitation white snow starts fluttering down onto your hands, it's the most magical feeling in the world. Even more so if you have never been in real snow before.

Here are some pictures:

So at Disneyland right now, there's pretty much a deal where you can get a ticket for $99 that's good for two days from now until June, which for a student, isn't a bad deal at all, especially if you love Disneyland. Hehe. P: I'm currently debating about upgrading my ticket to getting an Annual Pass. What do you think?

Anyways, there's a lot of things that I'm planning and one of them is a Closet Sale! I was doing a house cleaning for the past couple days and I've pulled out clothes that I wore in middle school and some old clothes that I just don't think I'll wear anymore. My friend also put in some clothes for the guys, along with some stuffed animals for the kids. (: At the moment, I'm still pulling together everything, but stayed tuned for that! (:

Smile! for [Colorful Adventures] Wasabi Monster's at Pasadena!

So the original plan was to go to see the Rose Parade floats after the parade, but due to the serious relationship my friends and I had with the beautiful sleep, we missed out on that. So instead, we went exploring in downtown Pasadena. One of my friends used to live around the area, so we were given a very nice tour of the area. (:

For lunch, we had Creme de la Crepe, which was absolutely delectable. Their crepes are so good. The chocolate ones tasted very strong, but extremely flavored because of the nutella. Unlike most places where the fruits are sour, the fruits used in Creme de la Crepe were sweet and were the best strawberries I had ever tasted. They top the dessert crepes with whip cream that they made themselves. The savory crepe that my friend ordered was really good too, with ranch that they made themselves as well! I'm not even a huge fan of salad dressing either, so to me, it's a really big deal.

[Top Left] Splendid: Honey and Strawberries
[Top Right] Esquiste: Ham, Cheese, Basil Sauce
[Bottom Right] Strawberries, Bananas, Nutella

We went to the Pasadena City Hall and it was gorgeous. So pretty that when I recorded clips of it, I became so awed that I said it was pretty three times without knowing what else to say. XD Here are some other shots I took at City Hall.

I can totally imagine this beautiful place where Fashion YouTubers would go to shoot their videos. Can't you? The atmosphere is simply majestic and it definitely feels timeless there.

So later on for dinner, my friends and I went to O2 Sushi for dinner and it was soooo good. <3 Their sashimi is really fresh. <3 I will just type a parade of hearts hoping that it'll convey how good it was. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 (complete with eyes closing and taste buds dancing) Here are some shots of the food. <3 <3 <3 <3

Believe me yet?

While we were waiting for the bill, I was in such a good mood that I turned my unused wasabi into a little monster, and then afterwards turned my friend's leftover wasabi into a mouse with one of my chopsticks. X3 Heh heh heh...

What a fantastic way to start off 2012! Hope you enjoyed this entry of Colorful Adventures! (:

Smile! for [Colorful Adventures] WongFu Live and Paper Trees

YouTube link for video

It's almost Christmas time! (: Hope you're all having a great holiday break! So here's the first video that I recorded and it's obviously not all that high tech...I'm sitting on the floor of my bathroom simply because it's the place with best lighting in my house. While I was recording...I was so nervous and constantly tripped over my sentences...so after a few hours, here it is! Despite that, I'll continuously try to improve and motivate myself to post more videos, but for now here's how this will start! (:

Here are some other shots of the Christmas Tree:

The technique that is used here is called quilling. It uses strips of paper that is rolled, shaped and glued to make different designs. I'm planning to make a video that goes over the different techniques that I used for the Christmas tree design.

As an intro to the quilling world, it's very important to understand the tools that make the process more convenient. Even though it's possible to roll the strips of paper by hand, a quick tip is to acquire a quilling tool first, so that the rolling process is quicker.

Smile! for [Colorful Updates]

Coming soon! I've finally kicked my butt cheeks into recording a YouTube video. It's going to be a vlog that goes hand in hand with a section that I'm starting called Colorful Adventures. (cue the shiny shooting-star-esque sparkles)

Here is a sneak peek shot about what the video is going to be about:

I'm editing it right now and I hope that you'll enjoy it! ^^
